People with movement passes, trucks stopped at highway without reason: Cong | KNO

Srinagar, May 27 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Wednesday drawn the attention of the government to the people travelling with requisite permission from valley, but they are reportedly stopped and forced to wait for hours after the crossing Jawahar Tunnel. “Amid ongoing lockdown, no individual is interested to travel without any solid reason, the movement passes are issued on the basis of urgency of the travel,” PCC said in a statement issued to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). JKPCC expressed serious concern over the difficulties confronting people moving towards the Jammu despite having issued movement passes by the Administration, but they are reportedly not being allowed to move for unknown reasons, whilst people coming from other places including the trucks with essential enter the valley without confronting the same treatment. “This kind of treatment is unacceptable and uncalled for, PCC said and urged the government to look into the matter in order to ensure hassle-free movement of persons with requisite movement passes towards Jammu and other places, for the fact, no one is interested to travel without any urgency,” party said. “It has also been reported that trucks moving towards Jammu are also being stopped for hours together after crossing Jawahar Tunnel without assigning any reason thus causing huge inconvenience to Drivers, besides creating mess on Srinagar-Jammu highway,” party said. “Government must come clean over this issue and ensure movement of trucks from valley enabling them to return with essentials and other required supplies,” PCC added and urged the Govt to seeks explanation from the Authorities dealing with the movement of people and trucks on Srinagar-Jammu highway –(KNO)
